Who Can Volunteer With Our Association in Saintes?

Every new volunteer begins by observing two sessions alongside an experienced coordinator and receives a complete printed mentoring handbook before taking responsibility for a small group.

Step-by-Step Volunteer Onboarding Process

When you submit the volunteer application form opposite, our Deputy Secretary for Volunteer Onboarding invites you for an informal coffee or tea at 7 Rue Georges Clemenceau, 17100 Saintes during our afternoon reception hours or on Saturday morning.

  1. Introductory Conversation (45 mins): We tour our reading rooms, microscopy lab, and bicycle shed, and discuss your interests and preferred weekly schedule.
  2. Observation & Pairing (2 sessions): You join an existing homework circle, Wednesday workshop, or Saturday wetland walk alongside a veteran volunteer mentor.
  3. Charter Signature & Insurance Registration: You sign our Secular & Child Safeguarding Charter, and our treasurer registers you under the association's free volunteer civil-liability insurance policy.
