Every guide, parent handbook, botanical atlas, and statutory activity report produced by AMICALE LAIQUE SAINTES is published as a free public good. We never sell books or charge download fees; printed copies are distributed free of cost at our Rue Georges Clemenceau secretariat and in Saintes public schools.
Why We Publish Printed and Open-Access Educational Manuals
While digital resources are useful, our field experience across the neighborhoods of Saintes demonstrates that nothing replaces a well-illustrated, durable printed booklet that a child can carry in a backpack along the Charente River or read at the kitchen table with their parents without needing a broadband connection or a computer screen. Every year, our editorial commission—composed of retired French teachers, science instructors, illustrators, and parents—writes and prints concise, jargon-free manuals tailored specifically to the realities of families and pupils in Saintonge.
Our publications fall into three distinct collections: (1) Cahiers d'Entraide Scolaire et Familiale (practical guides helping working parents support reading, mathematics, and calm homework routines at home), (2) Guides Naturalistes de la Saintonge Vivante (illustrated field keys to local wetlands, trees, birds, and insects around Saintes), and (3) Rapports Moraux et Financiers (our statutory transparency reports detailing volunteer hours and public grant stewardship).
